Values of ICG
The International Children's Games were created to transmit messages of friendship and peace to the whole world. As well as the values of sport and of the Olympic spirit, the International Children's Games are the carriers of important principles and dreams, such as: fair play; equality; respecting and accepting differences; friendship; fun and games; understanding; competition; the value of effort; knowledge via experience; participation, collaboration and team spirit; creativity; trust; contribution; and volunteering.
The International Children's Games in Athens, with the motto "Together - All friends" also promotes the concept of solidarity as, for the first time, children with special needs will also be participating in the event.
Every participant becomes an ambassador of great values, as they represent not just themselves, but also their city and country. Simultaneously, by taking part in the Games, they:
- Enrich their body and spirit;
- Develop their athletic abilities;
- Get to know the culture and customs of the countries which are taking part;
- Make friends;
- Become ambassadors of peace and brotherhood between peoples;
- Become part of the message of solidarity.
The educational nature of the Games focuses on spreading the idea of healthy competition and the joy of the game, with understanding and respect for the rules and for their opponents.
