The unique Athens ICG features
- Mixed events: For the first time in the history of the International Children's Games, the Athens Games will not just include events held for children with disabilities, but mixed events, in which children with and without disabilities will compete together. In this way, the Organizational Committee of the 43rd International Children's Games is promoting the idea of equality of all children, regardless of their differences and, at the same time, it contributes to the smooth integration of children with special needs in society as a whole;
- Numerous sports grounds: The whole of Athens will be celebrating the International Children's Games, and therefore a number of different grounds have been selected to host the Games.
- The children of Athens will come into contact with the children from the International Children's Games: The International Children's Games are an exceptional opportunity for numerous social exhibitions which will take place all over the city, and which the citizens of Athens will contribute to. The aim of these exhibitions is for all the children, regardless of their background and differences, to celebrate the message of the Games together: "We are competing together, we are all equal, we are all becoming friends".
